Rotkreuz, 22 August 2025 – Spectacular start. Today, Friday, the 13th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks kicked off in Zermatt with a sporting highlight: the EXTREME. The trail running spectacle, held from 22 to 24 August 2025, once again attracts the international elite and numerous spectators to the Matterhorn village. With more than 4,700 registered runners, the event has set a new record.

Rotkreuz, 24 August 2025 – A total of 4,088 runners from around the world took part in the 13th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks in Zermatt from 22 – 24 August 2025 – more than ever before. Thrilling duels, emotional finishes, and high-alpine challenges shaped the race weekend at the foot of the Matterhorn. At the center of attention were the victories of William Boffelli and Anastasia Rubtsova in the EXTREME race.

Rotkreuz, 15 August 2025 – From 22 to 24 August 2025, Zermatt will host the 13th edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks. Enthusiasm for this iconic trail running event is higher than ever. More than 4,600 runners have already registered – a new record. The EXTREME, MOUNTAIN, and RELAY by Loyco categories have long been sold out.

Zermatt, 25 August 2024 – The 12th Matterhorn Ultraks, held in Zermatt from 23 to 25 August 2024, was once again an international Skyrunning festival of the highest class. The event was marked by the victory of local athlete Martin Anthamatten (39) in the challenging EXTREME race, which is part of the Merrell Skyrunner® World Series. Last year’s winner, Anastasia Rubtsova (32), dominated the women’s race with the 11th best time overall. Additionally, a record number of participants served as excellent publicity for the event in the high-alpine mountain landscape.

Zermatt, 16 August 2024 – The Matterhorn Ultraks in Zermatt, taking place from 23 – 25 August 2024, is growing in popularity: Over 4,100 registrations set a record for the 12th edition. The EXTREME and MOUNTAIN routes have been sold out for a long time. The trail races in a breathtaking high-alpine setting offer varying levels of difficulty for all abilities. Thanks to the impressive network of mountain railways, spectators can cheer on the runners from anywhere.

The trail running event Matterhorn Ultraks in Zermatt from 25 May to 27 August 2023 still enjoyed growing popularity in its 11th edition. Human Sports Management (HSM) from Rickenbach LU will be responsible for organising this unique trail run with international appeal in a unique alpine environment.
